I've been racking my brains on what to post in Photo-Hunter's "string" theme. I thought of string bikinins and stringed musical instruments but I don't have those in my photo archive. But in my overflowing kikay chest, I have unearthed these treasures. In the top photo are strings of fabric-covered balls that made up this rose de Pompadour-inspired multi-textured necklace. I wore it over a plain white cotton sleeveless top. Below is a delicate piece made from strings of natural green shells and beads---perfect for a hot Saturday night dress. These kikay accessories were created by Cebu designer Butch Carungay. Butch has opened a shop in the posh Greenbelt 5 called Atelier Avatar.
Kikay, by the way, is a Filipino slang for girly, sassy, spirited, chic.

Wow your strings are fantastic! I really like the way they are made.
love these, especially the 2nd one!
thanks for the visit. :)
Very nice pieces.
Madame de Pompadour était une française, qui savait très bien s'habiller...
I wouldn't even begin to have a string bikini photo in my archives either!! LOL [I'm too old and wrinkled to be seen in one] The last photo of the purples and the turquoise colored beads is just too beautiful for words!!
My strings are strung and strummed...stop by if you can find time. Happy Hunting!
A fine job of coming up with "strings." I'm no expert, but they look very good to me.
What beautiful and unusual necklaces. Great choice for strings!
Gorgeous 'strings'! So colorful.
Beautiful necklaces. I laughed at the string bikini idea!
Nice strings. Mahalo for the quick language lesson :)
Thanks for visiting. Yes, I also cringe at the thought of wearing those icky rented bowling shoes.
