I like it that order exists somewhere even if it shatters near me.

Abstract 10/NF Abstract

There are only patterns, patterns on top of patterns, patterns that affect other patterns. Patterns hidden by patterns. Patterns within patterns.
If you watch close, history does nothing but repeat itself.
What we call chaos is just patterns we haven't recognized.
What we call random is just patterns we can't decipher.
What we can't understand we call nonsense.
What we can't read we call gibberish.
There is no free will.
There are no variables.
~ Chuck Palahniuk

The best creative solutions don't come from finding good answers to the questions that are presented. They come from inventing new questions.

Abstract 6/NF Abstract

Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up.

Abstract 5/NF Abstract

All human lives are so profoundly and intricately entwined—those dead, those living, those generations yet to come—that the fate of all is the fate of each, and the hope of humanity rests in every heart and in every pair of hands. Therefore, after every failure, we are obliged to strive again for success, and when faced with the end of one thing, we must build something new and better in the ashes, just as from pain and grief, we must weave hope, for each of us is a thread critical to the strength—to the very survival of the human tapestry. ~ Dean Koontz

Abstract 3/NF Abstract

The best fantasy is written in the language of dreams. It is alive as dreams are alive, more real than real ...for a moment at least...that long magic moment before we wake.  Fantasy is silver and scarlet, indigo and azure, obsidian veined with gold and lapis lazuli. Reality is plywood and plastic, done up in mud brown and olive drab. Fantasy tastes of habaneros and honey, cinnamon and cloves, rare red meat and wines as sweet as summer.  Fantasy is the towers of Minas Tirith, the ancient stones of Gormenghast, the halls of Camelot. Fantasy flies on the wings of Icarus, reality on Southwest Airlines. Why do our dreams become so much smaller when they finally come true?

We read fantasy to find the colors again, I think. To taste strong spices and hear the songs the sirens sang. There is something old and true in fantasy that speaks to something deep within us, to the child who dreamt that one day he would hunt the forests of the night, and feast beneath the hollow hills, and find a love to last forever somewhere south of Oz and north of Shangri-La. ~ George R.R. Martin

Silent strokes [Watery Wednesday]

@ mirandablue
 To follow the drops
sliding from a lifting oar,
Head up, while the rower
breathes, and the small
boat drifts,
quietly shoreward...

~ Theodore Roethke

So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

Stillness [Sky-Watch Friday]

@ mirandablue
 Health, contentment and trust
Are your greatest possessions,
 And freedom your greatest joy.
 Look within.
 Be still.

~ Buddha

Tropical storm Juaning (international name:  Nock-Ten) left a trail of devastation as it ravaged the Bicol region, central Luzon and the northern provinces.  35 lives were lost and millions of pesos worth of crops and infrastructures were destroyed.

"The sound of  'gentle stillness'  after all the thunder and wind have passed will be the ultimate Word from God."

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life.  ~John Burroughs

On the edge [Watery Wednesday]

@ mirandablue
If you try to guard yourself against every unlikely danger, you'll never stretch beyond your comfort zone. Don't let the 'what-ifs' run your life. Follow your dreams and have at it.                              --Diane Conway
@ mirandablue
I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over.  Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.  ~ Kurt Vonnegut
@ mirandablue
Take ... the path that runs along the cliff--that one, the one without any guardrails. Take that path, and know the exhilaration of the ride and the pride you feel when you reach the end will inspire you to take that path again and again. And that experience ... every day, will make you more fulfilled, more complete, and more alive.--Harry Beckwith

L-O-V-E [Ruby Tuesday]

@ mirandablue
Love is a friendship that has caught fire.  It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving.  It is loyalty through good and bad times.  It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.

~ Ann Landers

Dusk over Ortigas Center

Silent poetry [SWF]

@ mirandablue
I hope you're not getting tired of the views from my roof.  The rooftops and distant sky-scrappers are actually boring, but the sky has always something beautiful to offer.  Being on the roof at sunrise or sunset feels like sitting on the front-row seat to the greatest show on earth, and it's free.  From bold strokes of gold to splashes of purple and orange---this is silent poetry.

@ mirandablue
At sunset
Nature is painting for us
Day after day...
Pictures of infinite beauty.

- John Ruskin

Simply Pagudpud [Watery and Outdoor Wednesday]

@ mirandablue
Winded from walking to the tip of Malingay Cove from Blue Lagoon, I take a moment to lean on a craggy slope and gaze out across the lush mountains, jagged rocks, a deserted stretch of white sandy beach and a small resort community on the other side of the cove.  A perfect place to seek relief from the pressure of a crowded city life and adopt the pace of nature.  This is one the places that I would like to return to before developers swoop in and complicate this charming simplicity.

@ mirandablue
I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.  ~e.e. cummings

Good Morning, sunrise! [SWF]

@ mirandablue
I couldn't remember why I woke up early on this particular morning.  But I remember my anticipation to take Fritz on his morning walk.  We weathered a couple of storms these past few weeks and the drab, cheerless rainy mornings start to wear me down.  When I took a peek from behind the curtain, dark clouds concealed the sunrise and I almost went back to sleep.

@ mirandablue
A few seconds later, the sun broke out from the gloomy clouds and burst into view.  This is the sunrise from my bedroom window as it radiates happiness.

@ mirandablue
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
-- Groucho Marx

Lost [Watery & Outdoor Wednesday]

 Caramoan @ mirandablue
It is good to feel lost... because it proves you have a navigational sense of where "Home" is.  You know that a place that feels like being found exists.  And maybe your current location isn't that place but, Hallelujah, that unsettled, uneasy feeling of lost-ness just brought you closer to it.  ~Erika Harris
