Too bad these succulent oysters were literally drowned in butter. Personally, I prefer to eat oysters on a half-shell including the juice, raw or blanched with just a twist of lemon or vinegar dip. Other preparations with added condiments "spoil" the distinctive flavor of oyster. But outside the family, I only have a few friends who can eat oysters the way I do. On a dare, they'd eat baked oysters---but too squeamish to chew.
So this was another appetizer on a Saturday night-out with a couple of friends. We drowned our sorrows, laughed at our faux pas and ate oysters to awaken the senses.
I'm linking to Willa's Food Trip Friday
I like my oysters raw as well. It was not easy getting the hang of eating raw oysters, but it only takes practice. Now I love it.
That preparation with probably less 1/2 the butter would be best for mussels - that would be my personal preference.
Looks like a good way to spend a night out with friends - not much of an oyster fan but wouldn't say no either :D
too bad, i can only dip my sorrows at eating mussels, no oysters for me...i don't know...
were they able to break down urs?
happy friday, luna.
wow.. ang sarap..
Don’t forget to visit My Food Trip Friday wink*

Looks delicious! But I haven't tried eating oysters
I love these! sarap-sarap!
Thanks for dropping by :)
i prefer raw oyster over cooked ones! you're right! a squeeze of lemon is all it needs.. yumm!!
but i do love mussels prepared in such a way like your baked oyster here! :)
Too bad for me as well bc I do not eat Oyster.
that's really delicious, we love oysters but just expensive here! visiting from FTF, have a great weekend! :)
I love baked oysters, but we seldom order these because they're quite pricey! LOL! Thanks for the visit!
Back then I hated oysters, but I learned to love them! :)

oh my goodness. I love oysters but I just can't find fresh one here. i'm craving..waaaa
unfortunately for me, oysters and i don't agree with each other :(
Enjoy the rest of the week, here's my FTF entry
I also like baked scallops. Grabe, lalo akong nagutom. I can't eat yet till I get home because it's Ramadan.
These look so delicious! I'm so in the mood for an oyster dish now... seafood tonight with the wonderful boyfriend! :D
I love oysters! I don't think I've ever had the baked version though... I might have to try them for dinner tonight :D
I like oysters, don't love them though. I usually have them raw, with just a little lemon juice and sometimes some sriracha sauce. I tried Oysters Rockefeller once and they were alright, I would like to try them baked like this, but I don't know if I want them drowned in butter- love butter, but don't want to drink it.
I am one of those people who finds raw oysters hard to eat and too chewy to handle. Is the baked one less chewy?
