If your mother is like mine who is always shocked when she reads the prices on the menu, then would start telling me that it's much cheaper to cook at home, I'm sure you would prefer to order for her instead of giving her the option to read from the menu just to keep it peaceful. So it's been my practice to just read the menu out loud and let her choose. She ordered this cashew-crusted opakapaka when we had dinner at ClawDaddy last Sunday. Opakapaka is red snapper or maya-maya---it's cashew-crusted with garlic served on top of baby potatoes and roasted pumpkin cream sauce. I'm not sure if the crunchy leaves are sage or mint. I had the Smoked Baby Back Ribs which she seldom cooks at home.:p

that looks good! i think i am more like your mother...i cringe at the menu prices whenever we eat out. doesn't stop me from ordering, though. LOL
That looks yummy! I'm a fan of Opakapaka and know it quite well from growing up in Hawaii.
that looks delish, combines 2 of my fave food cashew and maya maya. though im sure hindi ko talaga alam ang magiging lasa nito. but thanks so much for sharing this :)

I was like that before, but hubby successfully talked me out of it, that it's good to spend extra sometimes, not only for the food but also for the experience.
Btw, I like your music background, found myself singing along with APO's song. Love them!!!

looks yummy; but never tried it before though.
hubby too likes turon with langka because he loves langka :-) so much!
It looks yummy, crunchy with creamy sauce...
Ooh that looks yummy but the name huh! ;) Opakapaka! uupakan ka pa? heheh.. and yeah, my mother (grandma, I call and treat her a mother because she deserves it) is like that and even me sometimes.. heheh.. you got a nice tip there.. thanks for sharing! It's a yummy food trip!
Here's mine:
My food trip this Friday: Just a Doughnut
See yah.. :)
spara pala akong mother mo na ang unang tinitingnanay presyo kaya ayun napagsasabihan din ako ni hubby na umorder lang at wag isipin ang presyo.
ang sarap ng inorder ni mother mo
what does it taste? nice blog btw, i like your idea of having a theme everyday. adding you on my list!
That looks really tasty, I'll have to look for a recipe. I've never heard of red snapper being called maya-maya. It sounds like a fish with my name all over it!
Now I wonder how much this costs...hehe. my mom would make tipid of everything if she can, dun kami nag-aaway :D
ps: comment page is now ok...
Sometimes the price in the menu hinders me to order it, but at times I still want to eat out rather than cook at home. At first I thought this is chicken, fish pala. Looks appetizing!
My FTF post is up HERE. Happy weekends!
Sa name pa lang nyang menu eh mahal na ang dating lol. Sarap!
Spice Up Your Life
hahaii ill never try that on my mom because i know she will never stop talking about the price. but personally i do check on prices too because i know that i can eat the same menu cheaply if cooked at home. but foreign sounding food - it's nice to treat urself once in a blue moon!
looks yummy sis but naawa ako sa fish. super wrapped ng nuts. am sure di na yan naka hinga.
happy weekend! good luck to palitaw making. :)

I like it with cashew nuts .. ganun yta mga lola parang takot sa price kaya di kumakain sa labas..
Yummy food, i like it:)
Opakapakapa wahhh I cant even spell it, I never heard about it, but with your description I bet it is so yummy hehehe thanks for the comment you left in my entry girl
waaaaaa...I think I can't afford this dish...name palang d na ako maka afford...lol!
looks so yummy and you're right about your mother you should be to take charge of the menu! my Mom is the opposite though because she's a cook and she'll say it's hard to cook and prepare and the food deserve the price if its perfect!
anyway the meal is new to me and it really looks good and healthy!
thanks for the visit!
that looks good ah. Kala ko Chicken fish pala.
My mom is also like that kaya, kakatuwa mga nanay natin :)
Sarap niyan, pero I will set aside the nuts.
We Ate This!
