Cashew-crusted Opakapaka

If your mother is like mine who is always shocked when  she reads the prices on the menu,  then would start telling me that it's much cheaper to cook at home,  I'm sure you would prefer to order for her instead of giving her the option to  read from the menu just to keep it peaceful.  So it's been my practice to just read the menu out loud and  let her choose.  She ordered this cashew-crusted opakapaka when we had dinner at ClawDaddy last Sunday. Opakapaka is red snapper or maya-maya---it's cashew-crusted  with garlic  served on top of baby potatoes and roasted pumpkin cream sauce.  I'm not sure if the crunchy leaves are sage or mint.  I had the Smoked Baby Back Ribs which she seldom cooks at home.:p

  4. I was like that before, but hubby successfully talked me out of it, that it's good to spend extra sometimes, not only for the food but also for the experience.
Btw, I like your music background, found myself singing along with APO's song. Love them!!!

  10. That looks really tasty, I'll have to look for a recipe. I've never heard of red snapper being called maya-maya. It sounds like a fish with my name all over it!

  12. Sometimes the price in the menu hinders me to order it, but at times I still want to eat out rather than cook at home. At first I thought this is chicken, fish pala. Looks appetizing!

My FTF post is up HERE. Happy weekends!

  14. hahaii ill never try that on my mom because i know she will never stop talking about the price. but personally i do check on prices too because i know that i can eat the same menu cheaply if cooked at home. but foreign sounding food - it's nice to treat urself once in a blue moon!

looks yummy sis but naawa ako sa fish. super wrapped ng nuts. am sure di na yan naka hinga.

happy weekend! good luck to palitaw making. :)

  21. looks so yummy and you're right about your mother you should be to take charge of the menu! my Mom is the opposite though because she's a cook and she'll say it's hard to cook and prepare and the food deserve the price if its perfect!

anyway the meal is new to me and it really looks good and healthy!

    thanks for the visit!
