My friends and I have been walking in the forest for about an hour when we found this resting place. It was a welcome sight after hiking through muddy trails, bitten by insects, and a leech fattening itself at my heel. I even slipped once and landed on an undignified heap by a tree stump (my bruised rear is still smarting). Good thing, nobody else had a camera.:D

Photos were taken in a Tayabas forest last Sunday. Tayabas is a town in Quezon province, 132 kilometers south of Manila. The road trip took us almost 5 hours from Makati after being lost twice and asking directions from policemen, pedestrians, jeepney drivers and street vendors. But it was so much fun! More photos in the next few days.

Walking through that trail, I would be glad to to see the rest stop. Phew!
That is lots of adventure!
wow ganda naman dyan parang jungle pa. gustong gusto ko yang mga ganyang lugar parang presko at malayo sa sibilisasyon
That must have been a great trek. Happy WW
Oh... Tayabas... did you drink Lambanog? They have the best one in Tayabas. Mallari is one of the oldest distilleries...
Looks like the jungle... ;-)
That's one hell of a hike you went through, but I'm sure you enjoyed it. :)
Happy WW! My entry for this is here.
Wow! That's an adventure!
trailing the forest! it's been a long time since i last did this!
That is one healthy way to spend the day. I could imagine the fresh scent of all the greenery.
with a trek like that, i won't mind resting for a bit... no make it an hour.
Where was the trail leading to? Those tiny leeches are a terrible annoyance!
that bench! i like that. i can spend an hour just sitting there.
hi Sidney! i bought lambanog for pasalubong, my friends had tequila, i had coffee.:D
it was indeed a jungle...i was expecting to see Ka Roger there.:D
hello, bertN! i hate leeches, slimy little creatures! the trail led us to a river with rapids.
i just notice you walk around the rainforest with just shorts and slippers---daring! We would bundle ourselves with a pair of denims, glaoshes and thick socks and hubby would spray the boots with Baygon even---so the leeches won't get to any part of your body unless they're hanging up the branches!
hello, bernadette! we were itchy all over after our trek so it was a wrong decision to wear shorts. kaya nga ako nadulas dahil sa slippers na hiniram ko lang, dapat talaga naka rubber shoes. we didn't want mud on our shoes (haha)!
talagang welcome to the jungle ang dating!ΓΌ hindi ba malamok sa loob?
surprisingly, hindi malamok sa gubat na 'to. pero sabi ng kaibigan ko na may-ari ng property, uso ang malaria dito dati tapos nag-fumigate ang army. since then wala ng lamok. thanks for visiting, bro. utoy!
