At least 20 typhoons hit the Philippines every year, triggering floods, landslides, sea disasters and mass evacuations. The rainy season starts in June through October, this is also the time when most tropical storms hit the archipelago. Three weeks ago, the deadly tropical storm "Frank" left more than a thousand dead and properties worth millions destroyed. This week, we were ravaged by another tropical storm, "Helen". The skies have been gloomy all week, and flooding in some areas of the metro. It's so difficult to get out of bed in this weather---all I want to do it sleep, eat, sleep. Finally, around 2 a.m. this morning, "Helen" went on its merry way to Taiwan and had even slightly intensified. Helen's tail will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon and bring rain over Luzon. The surge of southwest monsoon is also expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon, Western and Central Visayas. I hope the Coastguard is reading this!:D
And I used to think weather is a boring subject!:D
Photos were taken at the Manila American Cemetery last Saturday afternoon.

Years ago, my sister also picked sights around the Manila American Cemetery as subjects for her photography class. This is such a nice place to visit not only to reflect but also to enjoy an escape from the sounds of the urban jungle.
ganda ng last picture. dami mo namang napuntahang lugar.
astig ka!
the mood is sooooo somber. perfect for a cemetary.
by the way? ano ginagawa mo sa simenteryo?
This cemetery is about 10 minutes away from my apartment. I come here if i'd like some peace and quiet. You can say this is my oasis in this crowded city. Thanks for visiting, Panaderos.
Dong, malapit lang 'to sa bahay ko. And if you're in Bonifacio High Street, pwede mo ng lakarin (kung di umuulan) papunta sa memorial park.:)
Kasi inabutan ako ng ulan do'n, lawstude.:D I actually needed to walk after having a heavy lunch (yong may crab:D), so I drove to the cemetery to walk and inhale some fresh air.

The weather is never a boring subject! It´s the best icebreaker ever to start a conversation. :)
Our cemetaries are full of trees. Yours look different. I know you are on the opposite side of the Globe.
I like your shots.
Even though gray, your skies are beautiful. I know what you mean, though, about not wanting to get out of bed... Hope you get some blue skies soon!
Frank did a number, didn't he? These are dramatic photos. Beautiful. Thanks.
Sorry to hear of the devastation in your corner of the world. The weather can be so wonderful to us at at times, and so mean at others.
Recently, we too have had flooding, and washaways down the coast from Durban. Not nearly as bad as yours, but to each individual, it was equally disastrous.
I know for sure that the Coast Guard was reading this!
"Louis" appreciates not only your Sky Watch, but the photo of the cemetery. "Louis" is an avid reader of World War II history. A similar post is here and here. "Louis" just finished reading a biography of Douglas MacArthur and is currently reading about the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
"Louis" thanks you for visiting San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.
Looks like a very beautiful place. Thanks for your photos!
Grand shots here.
The Team thanks you for your SW photo and helping us in its new venture and making it a success.
I'm so sorry for the tragedies that Helen caused. I hope your weather improves very soon.
These are beautiful shot!!
Hi, Tina! Some tragedies cannot be avoided when you're living in this part of the world. Thank you.
Thank you for visiting, imac.
You're welcome, lasse. Appreciate your visit.
The weather has been very strange in the US as well, with flooding, dry forests with forest fires, hurricanes and a zillion toronados.
What is going on! Seems like a vast left wing conspiracy. Mustang Mike
