Where the river meets the sea [Watery & Outdoor Wednesday]

@ mirandablue
A calm refuge from Lamon Bay and the Pacific  Ocean, this shallow, protected body of water at Cagbalete Island is surrounded by mangrove forest.
This estuary is the point where man, the sea---his immemorial ally and adversary--and the land meet and challenge each other.  My friend, Sally, was caught by surprise by the rising tide while crossing this estuary.

  3. I was once surprised by a rising tide, Miranda, and it was very scary. Man’s relationship with the sea is, indeed, a contrast of the adversarial and blessed. Thanks for sharing this beautiful picture. :)

  15. What a beautiful and serene picture, Miranda. In my 88 cruises all over the world, I've been blessed to sail many of the planets seas. They, and the countries they touch, have given me so many wonderful and cherished memories. I wish retirement, and the terrible drop in my income, permitted me the joy of travel now but I still dream about the friends and the places!!
