Orange [Photo Hunt]

Found this tree with orange fruits along the dirt road in Caramoan on our way to Kulapnit Cave.  Fascinated at the clusters of orange fruits on the trunk and branches, I took photos and asked some locals to identify it.  Unfortunately, nobody seemed to know what this tree is called or if the fruit is edible.

My entry for this week's Photo Hunt

  3. Are these orange fruits edible? Pretty colour! They remind me of my rowanberries, except the rowanberries are smaller. These seem to be a big as plums.

  4. I've seen fruit like that in Hong Kong. And like you, wondered if it was edible -- but am not going to try doing that blind! ;b

  5. I've only seen these when they are green, not yet orange, and the friend I hike with knows what it's called... but do you think I'd remember? I think they are so funny to look at the way they grow straight out of the trunk. I'll try to remember to ask her next time I see her, but let't neither of us hold our breaths, okay? :-)

(I was trying to figure out how to play this meme, but no linky?)
