Foot bridge in Sagada [Sunday Bridges]

These are photos from my archives---a wooden foot bridge crossing a gorge near the rice terraces at the outskirts of Sagada.  The stream under the bridge is coming from the nearby Bokong waterfalls.

Scattered all over the Cordilleras are the rice terraces--carved out from the mountains by the Igorot more than a thousand years ago.  The terraces were our ancestors' way of maximizing farm lands and prevent soil erosion in this mountainous region.

  1. Good Evening Luna Miranda Sweetie...
What a beautiful share this evening. I love the photo of the bridge, but I would be afraid to go across it. It looks so high up and so far to cross. A little shaky maybe.

I love the rice terraces. They are so green and so beautiful. The steps so inviting. How very beautiful is the country side here. I love it.

Many thanks for sharing with me this evening. I have so enjoyed my visit.

    Many hugs sweet friend, Sherry

  4. Foot bridges are so cool - as long as they don't collapse! I love the shots you've shared. It seems that perhaps you took the first one from one of those rice paddies. Thanks for stopping by at my bridge.

  5. I am afraid now I am too old to walk on a foot bridge. I hope it doesn't wobble.

  6. I want to go, I want to go, I want to go... AGAIN! I haven't been as far as Sagada because the road just north of Banaue was washed away each time I was in Ifugao. Nice captures, Luna!

[Yes, the Osaka Aquarium IS an interesting structure; that's why I used this meme excuse to post it with the bridge ;-) ]

«Louis» wouldn't want to cross it if it wobbles... he has a bad case of acrophobia...

Beautiful images and a welcome contribution to Sunday Bridges.

  25. Cool! Footbridges are things that make me wonder when they first got the idea and how they may have went about solving the problem.

  27. It is going to be very challenging for me to cross that bridge. Scared of heights. In case I'd visit, I hope there's an alternate route. Haha.
