Nalusuan Island [My World]

Another islet 40 minutes from the Hilton pier, located between the islands of Bohol and Mactan, is Nalusuan Island. It is the crowning glory of Olango Reef in Cordova, Cebu. Originally a sand bar, Nalusuan Island was reclaimed to allow the construction of the resort which occupies the entire island.

The island measures close to a hectare, it has a 260-meter wharf and a stretch of white sandy beach. Nalusuan Island is a marine sanctuary--a favorite destination of divers, and the protected coral garden and rich marine life are great for snorkeling.

Water sports, rooms and cottages are available at the resort.

  2. hi, Maria! we parked near this island to dive. the boatmen know which islands to take the guests. if you hire a boat for a day, you could visit 5 islets. but if you want to do some scuba diving, 4 hours in the morning is good.

  9. This is a lovely place. We've visited this place when we did island hopping around Mactan island during our last holiday in the Philippines. My brother in law is a tourist guide and he introduced us this place.

By the way, I was born and grew up in Camotes in the town of Tudela and spent the rest of my years in Lapulapu City before I came here. Nice to know you have visited our beautiful island. I miss it already. It is quite long now since our last visit.

  10. I like your boat, looks like a crab, will never topple over.

In Malaysia, squattor built huts on government land by the railway tracks. The govt has to pay them to move.

  18. A great place for snorkeling and scuba diving. Your guides got you some good places. The only place I know along the coastal towns of Cebu is Sumilom Island. Hehehe, that was in the late 70's.

  20. Hi Luna, am glad to find someone from the same patch on earth. Your photos are so beautiful, been to Cebu and Bohol many times but i haven't been here, look so idyllic. Have you been to the Pearl Island near Guiuan, Eastern Samar? It's lovely there too. I also love your post while at SLEX. I do that too sometimes. Thanks for dropping by.
