On Easter Sunday, after visiting the Naga Cathedral with my friends, we went to a restaurant and grill along Magsaysay Avenue called Bob Marlin---plucked from the reggae artist Bob Marley and the pelagic blue marlin. Conspicuous Bob Marley' music was playing non-stop.
We were actually looking for authentic Bicol cuisine so aside from grilled blue marlin, we ordered Bicol Express and other Bicol favorites. But when a bucket of SMB was brought to our table, I asked the waiter to bring us some deadly, artery-clogging crispy pata for pulutan.
We were on seafood diet for the past few days in Caramoan that I thought we deserve a cholesterol kick. So here it is...crispy pata ala Bob Marlin with dip and pickled singkamas on the side. It was scrumptious!

ReplyDeleteAhahaha, love the name - Bob Marlin! That crispy pata is indeed a cholesterol kick but hey, after your seafoods diet, can't blame you for choosing this one. And the Bikol Express, it may not be seen entirely but I can see the red chillies talking to me. Ooooh, siram!

ReplyDeletejust a trivia: bicol express is not a bicol dish, it originated in Manila :) it was made by ManileƱos to rival the Laing of Bicol. :)

I haven't tasted that in a long while. All these talk of healthy eating has made me veer as far away from that dish as possible. If I can come down to the weight I'm happy with, I'd go back to tasting crispy pata.
ReplyDeleteOhh my gosh talaga ginutom mo ng sobra dito sis. penge naman diyan.
