Liquid gold [Watery/Outdoor Wednesday]

The sluggish days
of December
creep into my skin,
stealthily moves shadows
under my eyes.

Shivering as the sun
turns water
into liquid gold,
burning the stifled tears

yearning to be consoled.

Oh, where has the warmth

of summer gone?

  1. Golden liquid - perfect word for it.

And all at the cocoanut tree - like that.

  5. Lovely golden shot, and I was asking that same question today... where has the warmth gone? Even here in the Sunshine State, we were chilly today. I miss the long hours of light at this time of year.

    Happy Outdoor Wed!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)
