Litratong Pinoy: Ako (o Parte Ko)

my mother

I find this week's theme a bit difficult. I was ambivalent if I'd show off my legs, corns and calluses, scars or my tattoo (hehe). But since my left hand was not busy, it will do as my model.

Our hands do so much for us---they are capable of touching, feeling, holding, grasping, manipulating, waving, do high-fives and more. They are an important part of who we are and how we see ourselves.

Our hands are more than mere anatomical tools that perform tasks for us. They also help interpret the world for us and express who we are.

Another part of my being an individual is my mother. Half of my genes came from her. Although our relationship was not perfect during my teenage years, we pretty much understand and appreciate each other now. I swore when I was 13 that I would never, ever be like her, but it looks like I inherited much from her (which is not so bad, I realize :D). There's no escape from it so it's best to accept it with an open heart and mind...believe me, it's the beginning of wisdom.:D

'i have two hands the left and the right, hold them up high so clean and bright. clap them softly 123. clean little hands are good to see'

I believe that lahat ng bagay sa ating buhay ay mahalaga...being an artist, I can say my hands are very important but then so is my neck (hehe!)

I find hands (like the eyes) quite fascinating to look at. I often look at the hands of whoever I talk with maski surreptiously! I can see you are a meticulous person by your hands, Luna :-).

All mothers (I feel) are the same for all daughters. May proseso throughout the years and there comes a time either we fit in towards each other like worn-out but comfortable gloves! My mom always tell me "imagine! you were once inside me...and now...!!!"

:) Hey, are you engaged? ;)

Nice shot of your dear mom. I have a very independent streak and it led me to quite a number of disagreements and arguments with my parents as a teenager. However, whether we like or not, we eventually find ourselves inheriting some of their traits and yes, even some of those we didn't really appreciate. But that's how things are in life. :)

Nice post.

hi, toe. siguro dahil pareho tayong babae, dadating talaga pala ang panahon na makaka-relate tayo sa mga problema at experiences ng ating mga nanay. yayyy, i'm not engaged. i bought that ring for myself a long time ago.:D

ganon yata talaga ang teenagers. to develop a sense of self, i felt a great need to fight, defy and rebel against my mother. di ko lang na-realize noon, but i probably enjoyed all the intense teenage drama. now i know where i got that flair for drama (haha).
