I really don't know what distinguishes Pancit Luglug from Pancit Palabok. They taste the same, right? Although somebody told me Pancit Luglug has shrimp sauce and bisque, another told me the sauce has crab fat (aligue)---can anybody confirm this?
It's probably the size of the noodles---palabok has thinner rice noodles (bihon) while luglug has thicker, spaghetti-like noodles. What do you think?

A classic Pinoy merienda, this is Max's Pancit Luglug snack serving---it has an irresistible lechon kawali toppings and chitcharon bits. Delicious!

Perhaps you are right but this certainly looks good!
ReplyDeleteMy mother used thin noodles for luglug and thick ones for palabok but I can't remember the difference in ingerients. I think palabok has much more palabok.:)
ReplyDeleteGood question, I also have no idea! But Oggi's comment about palabok having more palabok might be the answer... :-)
ReplyDeletewow yummy!! i cannot distinguish the difference in the taste. i thought it's only coz of the noodles coz luglog has thicker noodles compared to palabok.. and oggi's right, palabok has more ingredients than luglog. :D i like the pancit luglog from razons too.
ReplyDeletelooks yummy, i feel hungry :-), your pancit luglog is look like a palabok. Hope you could visit my food f riday entry bananacue
ReplyDeleteI think you're right about the noodles, Pancit Luglug has thicker noodles. But then again, who knows, all I know is I'm suddenly craving for noodles!
ReplyDeletemaybe oggi's right, mas ma-palabok ang palabok kaysa sa luglog! :D but this looks so delicious, love that they added lechon kawali and chicharon bits. :) visiting from FTF and FF, see you around. thanks and have a great week. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have tried this yet. It looks like Palabok to me. But to be honest, I'm also confused between Palabok and Pancit Malabon, hahaha! Basta masarap siya kainin and I want to eat it now.
ReplyDeletepalabok with thicker noodles? that i really miss..
ReplyDeleteGood question. I think I like palabok more though :)
ReplyDeletei think the palabok has thicker noodles and more seafood ingredients (like what Ms. Oggi said); i find the pancit luglug to have a more "fishy/tinapa" taste, too.
ReplyDelete..or maybe am just imagining things! lol.
