At the Tamarind Tree [Sunday Bridges]

A wooden foot bridge over a narrow tidal creek at the Tamarind Tree that leads to  the main cottage.  The Tamarind Tree is a beach resort in Padre Burgos, Quezon, approximately 160 kilometers from Manila.  Spent the weekend here last year with friends.

  1. You took this picture around your house?
Oh, I wish I lived around there.
I wanna read books while drinking coffee at the cottage!

  2. Oh My Goodness Gracious...

TAKE ME AWAY. Oh how beautiful this place is. A girl could just move in and stay forever. Looks so peaceful and much cooler than here in Phoenix today I am sure.

Everything is so lush and green. It is just beautiful.

Thank you for sharing this evening. I have so enjoyed my visit tonight.

    Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

  5. Oh nice! I love it when beach resorts use bamboo and nipa rather than concrete. Is their beach pretty?

  14. As Hilda wrote, this is much more appealing with the materials they used instead of concrete.

  18. Is the Tamarind the same as in Malaysia called Assam fruit? It has sour fruits to cook fish and Tom Yom soup?

Here's more info about Mt Eden.
Mt Eden volcano at the summit is 196 metres above sea level. It is the highest natural point on the Auckland isthmus. The majestic bowl-like crater is 50 metres deep. The volcano erupted several times resulting in a series of craters, with the last eruption about 15,000 years ago.
To go up, you can take the easy option by going by car or by bus.
Or you can climb up a series of steps and walk up the track. I usually do this, but sorry I don't count the steps. The track can be quite steep at some places.

  19. hi, Ann. yes, tamarind is the same as "asam", we also use it as a souring agent. there was a huge tamarind tree at the resort, probably the reason for the name.

thanks for the info on Mt. Eden. appreciate your visit and comment.
