I wondered if this man was fishing for fish or just wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet at the Kissing Rocks on Monday morning. I've always admired the patience of fishermen, although I still haven't fully appreciated the joys of fishing. I understand the bonding opportunities fishing present, especially between father and son. Children, I believe, who love to fish would develop a lifelong love for the outdoors, not to mention acquiring the virtue of patience---a necessity for a happy existence.
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~ John Buchan
Yay! I am back blogging! Do you think he can catch fish in the shallow waters? I think, he is just having fun!

Lovely watery photos!
ReplyDeleteI imagine in the second photo the young man might be wishing he could be out on one of those boats. :)
My watery post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Maybe he was waiting for a kiss from the mermaid...

ReplyDeleteHi Miranda. Welcome to OW.
ReplyDeleteNice watery outdoor post!
I love to fish even if the fishes don't love me. My wife said she is glad that I do not fish for a living or we'll starve to death LOL.
ReplyDeleteThe comment about the mermaid was interesting because I was already thinking that the man in the first photo reminded me of the statue in Denmark of The Little Mermaid contemplating the harbor.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I love to fish and grew up fishing with my dad and brother. Thanks for sharing. Mumzie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I don't fish either, I go with a book when Hubs wants to go fishing. Now I will go with my camera.

Fishing is a great outdoor sport, but requires a lot of patience. I enjoy doing it, but if the fish do not bite, I am ready to leave. This man is enjoying the peace and pleasure of the day.
ReplyDeleteHe looks really at peace with his surroundings.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures.
He has found himself a lovely spot.
ReplyDeleteI'd just sit and watch; forget the fishing pole.
ReplyDeleteYour photos and your words are delightful. I hope you are having a wonderful day.

Fishing certainly does require patience. My oldest son loves to fish but my youngest gets impatient and wants to find something else to do if the fish are not biting as fast and as much as he thinks they should.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Thank you for sharing!

Looks like a pleasant day to enjoy some fresh air and, if lucky, catch a fish.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos and also your thoughts about fishing. My husband is always reminiscing about his childhood fishing trips with his father - I think it did bring them closer together and help build stronger bonds between father and son. But the solitary experience of fishing by yourself is probably a good thing, too. Wonderful photos!
