This strange red flower is straight out from the Little Shop of Horrors. Do you remember that 80's movie? This flower reminds me of a mysterious plant in that movie that has a craving for blood.:D My brother thought this is the plant where green peas come from! I found it in my aunt's garden when I visited her on New Year's day. Any idea what this flower is called?
Update: This exotic plant is called Vietnamese Mickey Mouse plant, Hoa Mai, Ochna integerrima.

Little Shop of Horror? I find the flower more like it came from a Big Shop of Beauty. The flower looks beautiful to me.....everything looks beautiful to me after I have a couple of drinks LOL.

wow! first time I've seen such an enigmatic looking plant! parang capers ang green thingies o olives even! saan nakuha ng auntie mo ito? If i was in your shoes, i would immediately ask for a cutting or seed! Then I can see my hubby smile amusedly OR look heavenward...:-D
ReplyDeletei must say that, that is one weird-looking flower but you definitely made it beautiful. galing. great job miranda.
ReplyDeleteI love the name you chose. Little Shop of Horrors is perfect. It does look like that flower. Very interesting and different.

ReplyDeleteI have to say, it's the weirdest flower I've ever seen! Quite lovely though ;O)
ReplyDeleteThat is a wild looking flower. I, too, am curious as to its name.
ReplyDeleteNo idea, but the flowers are pretty and your photos are great: love contrasting greens and reds. I think the one in movie [and subsequent off Broadway musical] The Little Shop of Horrors is more closely related to the Venus fytrap [mythical cross bred with butterwort].
