Louvre Museum, Paris
I almost kissed the floor of the Louvre Museum the first time I set foot in its lobby. I could never believe that I was actually visiting the world-famous museum in Paris, and that I'd be able to see, face to face, the works of art that I only saw in books---especially the famous Mona Lisa, a portrait painted by Leonardo da Vinci in the 16th century. In my excitement, I left behind in the train a pair of shoes that I just bought.

After my stint up north sa france, bumalik na naman ako just to got to the Orangerie... ewan ko pero connected pa yata ito sa louvre! hilo! but loved it!!

ReplyDeletewow Paris...I can understand your excitement...even though i haven't been to Paris.
ReplyDeletetoo bad for your lost shoes ;-)
I'll be honest with all of you, the first time I went to the Louvre Museum I forgo lunch because I wanted to see the world famous Mona Lisa....it was a letdown for me dahil hindi ako napaihi ng makita ko yung painting LOL.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I am just a moron unable to appreciate the significance of everything historically, socially and culturally unique and significant around me.
LOL bertn, i wanted to write about my disappointment when i saw the Mona Lisa, but I didn't want to spoil it to those who haven't seen it yet face to face. i agree with you...hindi rin ako naihi e(hahaha)...i even wondered what the fuss is all about!:D
ReplyDeleteParis is one place that we should all experience at least once in a lifetime, Dennis. I still feel bad when i remember the shoes.:D
ReplyDeletei'm sure magaganda din yon, Carnation. i've seen some of van gogh's paintings at the MMA in new york a few years ago.
ReplyDeletenaku, bernadette, i can only imagine what your mom went through walking in the Louvre. kahit gusto pa nya maglakad, di nya na kaya. i almost gave up when my talampakan started to bleed, but it was a personal challenge (hehe). Ieoh Ming Pei is the architect of the louvre pyramid.
ReplyDeletesalamat din, leah.
ReplyDeleteit was in September 2005, Sidney. i hope to revisit Paris someday.
