Sky Watch Friday: Paradise Island

sunset at Paradise Island Resort, Samal Island, Davao del Norte

Most of us miss out on life's big prizes. The Pulitzer. The Nobel. Oscars. Tonys. Emmys. But we're all eligible for life's small pleasures. A pat on the back. A kiss behind the ear. A four-pound bass. A full moon. An empty parking space. A cracking fire. A great meal. A glorious sunset. Hot soup. Cold beer. Don't fret about copping life's grand awards. Enjoy its tiny delights. There are plenty for all of us.

  5. nice one for SWF! Sunrise and sunset are the prime hours for beach fishing.... The summer saltwater fly-fishing season is now in full swing. The great charm of fly-fishing is that we are always learning, no matter how long we have been at it, we are constantly making some fresh productive insights, picking up some new clever trick. First day of fishing and we were at the sea at a reasonable time, The sky was getting nicely colored as we started to pack up. If fishing is like religion, then fly-fishing is high church... LoL! Until next week!

  6. wow! Perfect shot! Happy SWF! We had the sky up there, all speckled with stars, and we used to lay on our backs and look up at them, and discuss about whether they was made or only just happened... mine's up too hope you can drop by.

  14. Very beautiful photo. My one big regret in life was my failure to see a lot of my country before I left for the States. I now see it through the eyes of people like you.

My compliments, btw, on another great quote to accompany the picture. I enjoy reading them just to let you know. :)

  18. Miranda, very great job! And you know what, the words on your post taught me alot about life. I always got the chance of silence and trying to realize those small things that make me happy. Even nga ung mga talahib na lumilipad, super napapasaya na ako nun! I'm a very dramatic person kasi jeje

Thanks also for dropping by Cavite Daily Photo! I hope to see you sooN!

  19. Hi, Steven! ."..and forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair." This beautiful quote by Kahlil Gibran popped on top of my head when I read your comment. Don't stop appreciating life's simple delights.
