Summer rain

I've been praying for rain, and my wish was granted! It rained on my way to work this morning...oh, how beautiful to see the rainfall and remember how it felt to dance in the rain. Rain that rinses the grasshoppers' wings, leave crystal drops on a spider's web, and would possibly bring back the dragonflies to my mother's garden. I hum to an oratorio inside my head---I don't know why, but it's Handel's Messiah; rest my cheek on the glass window feeling the water trickle down, kissing the base of my neck. I'm not letting my hopes dry along with summer.

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby. ~ Langston Hughes

  1. Yes, it rained, pala!
How did you do that...? I thought the rain was weeks aways.

  2. Sidney, I got some magic potion from our friends in Siquijor, and performed a rain dance on the roof last night to summon the rain! Hahahaha

  3. I always found the summer rain to be cleansing and invigorating. The catch though is I hated and feared the lightning and thunderstorm that accompanied it most of the time.

    Lovely post.

  4. Lol at your comment!

I am not much of a rain person, I'd prefer to be inside the comforts of home with lots of food and marathon on Japanese animes than go out and get wet =D Good, hope this washes away the heat too...happy weekend to you!

We had a cool weekend here, Gizelle---I'm sure everybody gave a sigh of relief! I still love to take a shower under the alulod.:D But when I can't, eating popcorn infront of the TV, or listening to opera are my fave past time during rainy season. I hope you ha da great weekend, too!

  6. Thank you, photo cache. When I was a kid, I imagined leaves nodding and flowers smiling under the summer rain.:D The world seems fresh after the rain. I remember my grandmother covering all the mirrors in the house with cloth when there were thunder and lightning...that comforted me somehow.:D
