Asparagus Bacon Tempura

@ mirandablue
I was faint from hunger when I got to MoA one Saturday afternoon after an extended meeting in Pasay City.  With lots of restaurants to choose from, I decided on Kimono Ken because I haven't tried them before.  Red Kimono is one of my favorite haunts at The Fort, and I don't know if both "Kens" are related.

I love asparagus and I love bacon--and a combination of both balanced out my conscience.:p I like the concept of a bacon-wrapped asparagus, problem is, the tough stems were included.  When I bit into the roll, it was like fighting with the stringy fiber--not a pleasant experience.

The overall taste was OK...if only the succulent, tender part of asparagus was included in this dish.

Bright, clear/Maliwanag [LP and T2Q]

@ mirandablue

Now that the monsoon rains have started, I can't help but look back at the joys of summer.  I miss the bright and delicious sunshine, clear blue skies and delightful vacation.  Even when it's hot and humid, I wish it's always summer.  Rain sniveling endlessly is not my favorite thing.

For Thursday 2 Questions - you are invited to answer and join the fun.

1)  Why spring/summer/autumn/winter is your favorite season?

2)  What do you normally do on a rainy weekend?

Remembering summer [Watery Wednesday]

@ mirandablue
Our outrigger anchored at the shores of Anjawan Island, a small private island in southern Negros Occidental.  Across the bay is the rugged coast of Sipalay, once a mining town, now a tourist destination.  These were taken last summer (early March) during a family vacation.
Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit.  A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world.  ~Ada Louise Huxtable

Blue Monday: Raffia bag

@ mirandablue
Can't help but reminisce of summer while looking out the window on this rainy afternoon.   If it's still summer in your part of the world, I'm sure you'd love to add zest to your summer getup with this raffia purse. Woven raffia was decorated with dyed coco and wooden beads.
